I... live! And IRC channel.

1. WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE DELAY OF SCHOOL RUMBLE EPISODE 3? (3 marks)
a) Bastard profs decided to toss me two midterms in a row
b) Bastard prof also decided to make an assignment which I hadn't started yet... even though requirements were posted a month earlier due the following Tuesday. :x
c) I was too busy working on subbing the OP PV. guruguru mawaru~!
d) Dead Or Alive Ultimate came out and I became obsessed with unlocking Kasumi's Santa costume
e) My regular timer started to hide from me whenever I brought the topic of timing up
OR...
f) ALL OF THE ABOVE?!

Well, in either case, episode 3 is out.

And no, I didn't stop. What the hell, just because somebody decides to spit on my work and jump ahead of me is supposed to mean I've dropped my own project? What's the world coming to? (Don't answer that, I'm afraid to hear the answer)

Oh, and due to popular demand, I made an IRC channel. #- on irc.rizon.net. Idle in there and make it seem less desolate, please. :o

Edit: Could use a timer. If you think you're up to the job, swing by the IRC channel and express your interest.

Well, I don't think D is possible anyway. XD

Take it easy, man. Most of us want quality over speed.
I've watch other groups stuff, but they just sucks ass......
(Especially Wannabe, who jump on the bandwagon at ep.3, I hate them.)

If your ever come to HK by any chances, e-mail me, I'll buy you a beer. You deserve it!

Thanks...I couldn't take much more. But I hope you catch up to the *other* group who jumped on a bandwagon just to get things out sooner. I stuck with you because of your excellent translation and overall quality. Keep it up cause there are people waiting only for your sub.

Screw Wannabe-Fansubs. Vulture groups are idiotic. It's not even like they jumped in on episode 20 or something... It was episode three! They cant even do TWO eps on their own?

I'll stick with your subs.

I love Dash's subs but that does not mean I have to flame others right? Why don't some of you guys grow up? Just support Dash in a nice way and don't get the others'subs. Since you're such smart-asses why don't you go sub on your own? There's no doubt Dash is the bset but hey, give others a break. Fansubbing is not easy. And before you diss others, why don't you go to their sites and read their reasons for jumping the wagon? Sheesh, I hate immature people.

Damn Straight, i'm not a huge fan of Wannabe's subbing at all to be honest, but i can hardly blame them for wanting to "jump the bandwagon" as (no offense to Dash) we had to wait a long long time for episode 3 and more to the point, the guy at wannabe is a self-confessed Dash subbing fan, if he had a problem with Dash's subbing, i'd have a problem with him

Thanks again Dash for subbing School Rumble. I'll be looking forward for more of your releases, and now with your irc channel it'll be tons easier to get your stuff ^^.

And the thing with the Wannabes. I really don't think you should be flaming them so much. It looks like they've put quite some effort into it (altho dash is better) and from their site, it seems like their staff consists of pretty hardcore Rumble fans as well. Since fansubbing is doing it for the love of anime, I see this as a complementary issue. Why would you see it as "rivalry" anyway. I didn't think that Dash would be in it for the politics or the channel size in the first place. Alright, enough chat, and back to enjoying School Rumble, cya.

Your subs are way better than Wannabe's; just watched and I don't care if you've only had so many months of Japanese experience, your translations are better. Keep up the good work! I'll be waiting for ep. four =)

You know you're addicted to a series when you
1) reread the relevant scanlations
2) watch the raw (thanks to SaiyaMan!)
3) watch the Wanabe sub (if it's first - else skip step 3
4) watch the Dash sub when it comes out

And hopefully someday (5) get the DVD's and watch them (WHY isn't this licensed yet - it certainly deserves to be)

haha yea right! I mean its just plain cute and laughable. you can watch it without even understanding an word and laugh your ass off. I mean the things like the "initial d" and the "matrix" scenes are just classic. You dont need any explanation. I guess theyre just slow to catch on of what a great show this is.

That matrix thing was frickin hilarious,
i must admit though i found the initial D gag from the first ep just as funny, i'm a die hard initial D fan so it was always gonna work on me

Personally I'd be quite content if this series never got licensed over here. The big profesional corporations never do as good of a job as the fansubbers; it's kinda sad, but its all too true.

Case in point: A while back, ADV licensed Azumanga Daiou, a show which I absolutely adore. The Triad's fansubs were the work of genius, and they made it possible to understand, and appreciate, the jokes that were so Japanese intesive you'd almost have to be a native to get them. And then ADV came along with their subs that left you in the dark half the time. And even when they did make it so you could understand, they translated it in such a way that 90% of the humor was lost and you barely cracked a smile!

Anyway, to get back to my point, it's rather hard to justify going out to buy a DVD which is vastly inferior to the free fansub I downloaded. I mean, if a big multinational corporation that can throw approximately 40.7 bajillion dollars into their subtitling project can't compete with a tiny little amateur group of about ten people in terms of quality, why in the fuzzy heck should I give my money to them? I'd have a much easier time giving that money to the fansubbers.

I went out and bought the Azu DVDs, due to a hyperdeveloped moral code, but right now all but one of them sits, unopened, on my shelf. On the other hand, I pop in the VCDs with the fansubbed eps into my DVD player every couple of months. So, as I said (typed?), I would honestly rather that School Rumble not get licensed, so I can keep enjoying these spectacular Dash fansubs and not have to shell out for ADV's, or Pioneers, or USManga's, or whomever else's POS version. But maybe that's just me...

Good job on this, the wannabe fansubs almost made me cry... Even I heard things that were wrong, and besides they mistranslated the punchline from Onna no Ko Otoko no Ko!

Oh yeah... I hope you continue subbing this show even when (if) it gets licenced (like Kaizoku Fansubs for example)... Yeah, that's what I wanted to say.

Oh and... are you gonna sub that ED PV when it comes too? =D

What punchline? From what I see, wannabees ep 4 seem better translated than ep 3. I heard that a new translator checked their ep 4.

i couldn't think of the right word, but i meant the "なんちてな" line at the end. i'm happy their quality has improved, but i like to stick to one sub for one series, so i'm probably not gonna switch. (if i'd known they weren't gonna do 1 and 2, i wouldn't even have bothered checking them out)
